Pediatric Care
We encourage parents to follow the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s (AAPD) recommendation that a child’s first visit to the dentist occur either when their first tooth erupts or they reach 12 months of age. (Click to download pdf) Familiarizing your child with the dental office early in their childhood can be a great way to foster proper dental care. At a child’s first visit, we allow them to acclimate to the office, get used to sitting in the dental chair, and we provide a visual examination. If a child seems comfortable with the experience, we will proceed with a cleaning and x-rays, if indicated. Additionally, we take the time to educate parents and caregivers on proper hygiene technique as well as nutritional factors in caring for a child’s teeth. Our staff is well trained, comfortable, and enthusiastic in working with kids.
